In 2003, Hong Kong and Shanghai officially established the Hong Kong-Shanghai economic and trade cooperation mechanism. Over the past 20 years, Hong Kong and mainland China have carried out long-term cooperation in various fields such as innovation, technology, and talents.
As a Hong Kong start-up technology company, Roborn also cooperated with China Mobile Research Institute in 2018 and successfully developed China’s first 5G robot. Mark Mak, co-founder of Roborn, said that the cooperation with mainland China has enabled the company’s in-depth research to have a broad application market.
The CRE-Roborn GeronTech Robotic Joint Research Centre was officially opened at the beginning of this year. Roborn and China Resources will work together on the field of GeronTech. Now Roborn is developing a robot to help the elderly in diagnosis, treatment and care. It can be operated remotely through a robotic arm to reduce the burden on frontline nursing staff.
