The Hong Kong Customs held the International Customs Day (ICD) 2024 celebration last week (January 25th) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, an annual event for Hong Kong Customs. The event not only encourages customs agencies from around the world to strengthen their cooperation with traditional partners and explore new opportunities for collaboration but also recognizes the outstanding contributions of Hong Kong Customs personnel and their partners in promoting the World Customs Organization and customs-industry relationships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Maggie Yang presented the World Customs Organization Certificate of Merit to Mark Mak, recognizing his outstanding contributions to promoting the World Customs Organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Mak, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Roborn was honored with the World Customs Organization Certificate of Merit, acknowledging his close communication and collaboration with the Hong Kong Customs in various aspects and his excellent contributions to society. Roborn has been committed to working in\u00a0intellectual property, technological innovation, and application areas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they developed the 5G outdoor disinfection robot “Sau Wu”. They\u00a0successfully tested it at the Customs Headquarters, assisting in cleaning and disinfecting work environments to protect the health of customs enforcement officers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roborn representatives also served as keynote speakers at the 2023 Guangdong-Hong Kong Intellectual Property and SME Development (Huizhou) Seminar, helping small and medium-sized enterprises in Guangdong and Hong Kong formulate effective strategies for intellectual property management and utilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hong Kong Customs personnel and partners were awarded the World Customs Organization Certificate of Merit, recognizing their outstanding contributions to promoting the World Customs Organization and fostering strong relationships between customs and industry partners.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark Mak expressed his gratitude for the invitation to participate in the International Customs Day 2024 and for being nominated to receive the World Customs Organization Certificate of Merit by the Hong Kong Customs. He hopes to continue providing innovative technological support to the Hong Kong Customs to enhance the enforcement capabilities of customs personnel and safeguard social and regional security. As a member of the Management Committee of the “Customs YES” (Hong Kong Customs Youth Development Programme), he will continue to dedicate himself to providing unique and diverse learning opportunities for young people. In addition to deepening their understanding of the laws and regulations enforced by customs, he will also share his journey in technological innovation and entrepreneurship as a mentor, encouraging young people to fully unleash their potential and cultivate positive values and a sense of belonging to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
