The Digital Entertainment Leadership Forum (DELF) 2024, Cyberport’s flagship event has officially kicked off today. The ceremony was officiated by guests of honour including Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government; Lillian Cheong, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry; Zhang Guolai, Second-class Inspector of Youth Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Simon Chan, Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited; and Dr Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport.
The event featured four main themes: “Smart Living,” “Robot Technology,” “Sports and Games,” and “Art and Culture.” Roborn’s 5G bionic robot ME and barista robot RCafé were showcased, attracting a lot of attention from the attendees. Financial Secretary Paul Chan and other guests interacted with the two robots, with Paul even trying out the barista robot and praising the innovation and fun elements of the technology.
Mark Mak, co-founder and CTO of Roborn, mentioned that the RCafé barista robot system developed by Roborn integrates mechanical technology with 5G, AI, IoT, and cloud into a comprehensive solution, emphasizing the human element. Mark highlighted the core technologies such as the mechanical arm and the 5G robot, which can automatically brew coffee and create latte art, completing the process in about a minute and a half. They aim to collaborate with coffee shop brands in the future and expand the technology to various customer segments.
Mark Mak added that Roborn will continue to leverage Hong Kong’s strengths to enhance collaboration in innovation and other fields, telling Hong Kong’s story through solid partnerships and interactive exchanges to collectively drive Hong Kong towards becoming an international innovation hub.
