Roborn 5G Epidemic Prevention Robot are being much more practical by taking three main advantages of 5G technology, namely low latency, high bandwidth and wide coverage with different things. For instance, the UV Light Disinfection Robot responsible for indoor disinfection is embedded with a 360-degree viewing angle camera on the top. Monitors can observe the disinfection work with 5G mobile phones for ensuring no one else on site. In addition, 5G streaming allows the robot providing a real-time communication platform. It is able to reduce the risk of contact between medical staff and patients during the patient consultations.
Prof. Larry Poon, Co-found cum Chief Executive Officer of Roborn shared at the “Huan Ting Shi Jie”, a RTHK programme. Facing the COVID-19 outbreaks, the team proactively worked around to develop a 5G Smart Epidemic Prevention Robo “PEP3000”, aiming to contribute to the fight against coronavirus.
Flexibility is the key as disinfecting, Roborn’s temperature monitoring machines go through their paces in Hong Kong and look to ASEAN markets.
As technology powers ahead rapidly, Hong Kong start-up Roborn believes applications that can adapt to the changing needs in different markets and sectors will come out winners. Guided by this philosophy, the company has developed intelligent robots for measuring body temperatures and disinfection to help contain the COVID-19 pandemic. The products target both the Hong Kong and overseas markets.
